Common questions
Is MoveIn really free for private landlords?
Yes. Basic listings are free forever for private landlords. That's the promise, and we're not changing it. A premium tier with featured placement and richer tools will launch later; basic listings stay free.
Do I need an RTB registration number to list?
We ask for it during signup so we can pre-fill compliance prompts later, but it's not required to publish your first listing. RTB registration is legally required within one month of a tenancy starting. See our guide for the full process.
Why do you ask for my phone number, and verify it?
Phone verification is required for every landlord before a listing goes live. It keeps the marketplace trustworthy for renters and gives us a way to reach you about urgent issues. It's a one-time 6-digit SMS code.
Can I refuse tenants on the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP)?
No. Refusing a tenant solely because they receive HAP is illegal in Ireland. You can vet on income, references, and employment like any other applicant, but not on HAP status itself.
I'm a letting agent with 20+ properties. Can I use MoveIn?
Agent tooling is in development. For now MoveIn is focused on private landlords. When agent dashboards ship, we'll reach out to agencies directly with pricing.
Will my exact address be public?
No. Search results and the map show your county and town only. The full address and Eircode are revealed only to renters whose inquiry you accept.
What if I already list on Daft? Can I cross-post?
Absolutely. Most landlords trying MoveIn keep their Daft listing live for the first cycle. Track inquiries from each platform separately and stop paying Daft when MoveIn alone is enough.
